Course Overview

The Bachelor of Music (Arts Management) is the ideal degree if you are a musician who would like to develop collaborative music skills and have passion to develop key knowledge in today’s entertainment management fields. This degree combines a well-balanced mix of creative and collaborative music and management practice together with practical and theoretical performance knowledge. Combined together, these will give you a head start in a competitive industry. You will develop networks of future leaders in both performance and management across all of AIM and in the industry.



Course Structure

There are nine stages of learning in total. Three stages are completed each year (called a Study Period). The course has three distinct subject areas:

  • Management: Including units such as: Artist Management, Event Management, Financial Management, Entrepreneurship, International and Domestic Business, Publishing, Strategic Partnership, Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law, Digital Marketing.
  • Music: Including units such as: Music Ensemble, Music Theory, Critical Studies (in depth elective studies of specific music genres).
  • Electives: Choose from a vast array of electives in either management or music to enhance or refine your learning.

Academic Entry Requirements

Applicants with completed secondary education matriculation in the last 2 years (NSW HSC or recognised equivalent)

OR

Applicants with recent Higher Education (tertiary) study – at least 6 months full time (at Bachelor degree level or higher) from an internationally-accredited institution
OR
Mature age applicants (21+yrs) not meeting the above criteria but with sufficient previous work / life experience deemed relevant by AIM.

Language Requirement
IELTS Score (Minimum) Applicants obtain an English Language Proficiency IELTS accreditation score of 6.0 or higher, or failing that, have enrolled in an accredited English for Academic Purposes pathway program.
