Course Overview

This qualification describes the skills and knowledge for specialist or managerial job roles in the production horticulture industry including owner, farm manager, head grower, crop manager, section manager, dispatch manager, sales manager, marketing manager and specialist consultants.

Individuals with this qualification will take personal responsibility and exercise autonomy in undertaking complex work. They must analyse information and exercise judgement to complete a range of advanced skilled activities.

  2. AHCSOL505 Monitor and manage soils for production
  3. AHCPHT511 Develop a Horticultural Production Plan
  4. AHCWRK512 Plan, implement and review a quality assurance program
  5. AHCCHM501 Develop and manage a chemical use strategy
  6. AHCBUS516 Develop and review a business plan
  7.  AHCHYD501 Develop a plan for a hydroponic system
  8. AHCBUS511 Manage enterprise staff requirements
  9. AHCWHS502 Manage work health and safety processes
  10. AHCWRK511 Develop workplace policy and procedures for sustainability

Minimum Age to Apply N/A
Academic Entry Requirements Completion of Certificate IV in Horticulture or related field or equivalent to Australian Year 12 general schooling or 2 years work experience in horticultural related field.
Language Requirement
IELTS Score (Minimum) All candidates must complete a Language Literacy & Numeracy Assessment, assessed by the Language Studies Department.
