This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response in a range of situations, whether it be at work or socially. This course does not require any previous level of experience, training or qualifications.
The course content covers a range of different topics include Legislation & Legal Issues, Introduction to First Aid, Decision making, When to call an Ambulance, Unconsciousness and Priorities of First Aid, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Defibrillation, Hygiene, Heart Attack and Strokes, Drowning, Head and Spinal Injuries, Seizures, Diabetes, Effected by Drugs & Alcohol, Hypo & Hyperthermia, Foreign Body Obstruction, Bleeding, Shock Wounds, Eye, Ear & Nose Injuries, Burns, Fractures & Soft Tissue Injury, Bandages, Poisons, Bites & Stings, Allergic Reactions, Moving Lifting & Carrying Casualties.
You will be assessed for successful competency through the following:
Practical demonstration of first aid skills and knowledge
Theory assessments including an incident report sheet and a multiple choice exam
