Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply advanced knowledge and skills in a range of strategic leadership and management roles.
Individuals at this level make high level autonomous decisions and use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions in varied contexts. They have full responsibility and accountability for personal outputs and for the work or function of others.
They use cognitive and creative skills to review, critically analyse, consolidate and synthesise knowledge, in order to generate ideas and provide solutions to complex problems. They use communication skills to demonstrate their understanding of theoretical concepts and to transfer knowledge and ideas to others.

Course Structure

The following 8 units of competency are required to attain this qualification:

Core Units:

  1. BSBLDR811 Lead strategic transformation
  2. BSBSTR802 Lead strategic planning processes for an organisation

Elective Units:

  1. BSBHRM615 Contribute to the development of diversity and inclusion strategies
  2. BSBFIN801 Lead financial strategy development
  3. BSBHRM611 Contribute to organisational performance development
  4. BSBLDR812 Develop and cultivate collaborative partnerships and relationships
  5. BSBLDR813 Lead and influence ethical practice
  6. BSBSTR801 Lead innovative thinking and practice

Note: The elective units may change at college’s discretion, if necessary.


Entry Requirement

Admission Requirements
Academic Entry Requirements Entry to this qualification is limited to those who:
  • Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification in related fields of study and three (3) years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise. or;
  • Have completed a Bachelors’ degree in related fields of study and two (2) years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise. or;
  • Have five (5) years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management
Minimum Age to Apply Students must be a minimum age of 18 years or above at the time of course commencement.

Language Requirement
IELTS Score (Minimum) Minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent.



English Language Requirements
A minimum of two (2) years of study at an AQF Level 4 or higher completed in Australia.
