The Graduate Certificate in Health Management at CHS will accelerate your readiness for Australia’s booming industry. With this course, you will extend your knowledge and skills in the Australian healthcare system. You will develop an extensive understanding of the contemporary challenges, leadership and management as well as governance, safety and quality in the Australian Healthcare ecosystem.

The Graduate Certificate in Health Management is designed to be oriented to Australia’s healthcare industry and its complexity and necessities in order to enhance our students’ job readiness.

This course also enables the students to proceed to Graduate Diploma in Health Management and Master of Health Management. CHS offers a pathway to Master of Health Management and an exceptional research experience with the combination of research methodology, contemporary theory and industry practice.

Course Structure

Qualification for this award requires the successful completion of 24 credit points by completing the following units:

Trimester 1

  1. HM001 The Australian Healthcare System: Contemporary Challenges
  2. HM002 Governance, Safety & Quality in Healthcare 
  3. HM003 Leadership & Management in Healthcare

Academic Entry Requirements

Students must have:

  • A recognised Bachelor Degree (AQF 7) or an equivalent, or higher qualification in a health-related discipline(see list below) OR
  • Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in any discipline (AQF 8) OR;
  • Have a minimum of three years relevant work experience in a health-related field (see the list below). The relevant work experience must be demonstrated through a CV and a Statement of Service, confirming the dates of employment and the position held within the organisation.
Language Requirement
IELTS Score (Minimum) Academic IELTS: 6.5 or higher overall with a minimum writing and speaking score of 6.0; or
TOEFL-IBT Score (Minimum) IBT (Internet-based TOEFL) overall score of 79 with a writing section minimum of 21 and speaking 18;
