Our EAP course is designed to prepare students for the academic rigour of a degree course with a focus on critical thinking, academic writing, presentation skills, and referencing.
This course effectively integrates the four macro-skills, which optimises the possibility of a student becoming an autonomous learner, which is a pre-requisite for academic success at a university level. By the end of the course, students will be able to confidently and effectively participate in university lectures and lab classes, as well as excel in academic writing, reading, referencing, and presentations.
The core curriculum is based on a comprehensive set of resources that include a variety of authentic academic materials.
The course is a 12-week course with 20 face-to-face hours per week.
Students enhance the following skills: Speaking, Reading and Critical Thinking, Functional Language and Grammar, Writing, Listening Note-taking, and Academic Referencing.
Students are provided a creative and supportive classroom environment as they acclimatise to an appropriate degree of academic intensity.
Students will undergo a series of assessments, including presentations, essay writing, active listening comprehension, and reading comprehension tasks.
