Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of workers with responsibility for designing, implementing and evaluating health and leisure activities, and programs for clients in one or more sector areas. Work may be in residential facilities and/or in community agencies and day centres. Workers work under supervision or as sole practitioners and may be required to plan, coordinate and evaluate other workers and work teams within broad but generally well-defined guidelines.

  7. CHCLAH005 Incorporate lifespan development and sociological concepts into leisure and health programming
  8. CHCLAH006 Coordinate planning, implementation and monitoring of leisure and health programs
  9. CHCLAH008 Provide leisure education
  10. CHCLAH009 Apply concepts of human psychology to facilitate involvement in leisure programs
  11. CHCPOL003 Research and apply evidence to practice
  12. CHCPRP003 Reflect on and improve own professional practice

Entry Requirement

Admission Requirements
Academic Entry Requirements Have completed Year 12 or equivalent qualification. 

Language Requirement
IELTS Score (Minimum) Have obtained an IELTS band score of at least 5.5 – or equivalent test score.
English Language Requirements

English Language proficiency can be shown by:

  • Having completed a Certificate III, Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma level Training Package course in Australia

OR

  • Having completed any Certificate III or Certificate IV in ESL or EAL from the ESL/EAL Framework (VIC)

Internship or Work Placements
