Course Overview

Cyber security is the practice of protecting sensitive data and information through security architecture and developing disaster recovery and contingency plans. Database and data management is the process of creating, designing, and monitoring systems that store data and optimise organisational knowledge management. Systems administration is the field of work in which someone reviewing maintenance procedures and support to help troubleshoot system applications.
This course is designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge to:
  • Verify and clarify client requirements and needs in regard to protecting sensitive data and information
  • Build a range of disaster recovery and contingency plans
  • Build databases to support web-based programs
  • Apply IP, ethics, and privacy in ICT environments
  • Review and support maintenance procedures for system applications
  • Integrate e-business and e-commerce solutions into databases

Course Structure

The following 20 units will be taught over a period of 72 teaching weeks including 32 weeks of term holidays:

Entry Requirement

Admission Requirements
Minimum Age to Apply Be 18 years old or over.

Academic Entry Requirements Students who intend to enrol in this course must prove their satisfactory completion of Australian Year 12 or international equivalent, or a minimum 2 years industry experience in related fields.

Language Requirement
IELTS Score (Minimum) Students must have good communication skills. Candidates whose English is not their first language are required to prove their English language skills which is equivalent to an upper- intermediate level (e.g. IELTS 5.5).
