The Diploma of Business equips you with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in any sector of the diverse and dynamic business industry.
With subjects like Pathway to Success, Financial and Commercial Literacy, Global Citizenship, Management Solutions for a Changing World, Data Informed Decision Making and Marketing, you will gain an insight into key elements of business and deepen your understanding of contemporary business practices. Your 2 elective subjects can be picked from a range of Electives that suit your interests, allowing you to tailor your Diploma to your unique career goals.
The Diploma of Business offers you a stand-alone qualification through the Aspire Institute or, should you wish to further your studies, you could choose to use your diploma qualification as a pathway into the second year of a bachelor degree, with successfully completed subjects counting towards a bachelor degree at Macquarie University (MQU), University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Western Sydney University (WSU), University of Wollongong (UOW) or the International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS).
Upon successful completion of the Diploma of Business you will receive advanced standing (credit) for subjects which are part of a bachelor business degree at MQU, UTS, WSU, UOW or ICMS.
All Aspire diploma students are part of the greater ICMS student community, with lectures held at our Northern Beaches Campus or at the Sydney City Campus, subject to availability. Aspire students receive dedicated academic support, including study skills.

Course Structure

The following 8 units of competency, including 6 core units from Aspire institute and 2 elective units from a partner university, must be completed:

Core:

  1. BUS101A Pathway to Success
  2. ACC101A Financial and Commercial Literacy
  3. MGT102A Global Citizenship
  4. MGT101A Management Solutions for a Changing World
  5. STA101A Data Informed Decision Making
  6. MKT101A Marketing

Electives:

  1. UTS – MKT102A or; MQU – ENT101A or; WSU, UOW and ICMS – Any subject from the list of elective subjects
  2. UTS – MKT103A or; MQU – ECO201A or; WSU, UOW and ICMS – Any subject from the list of elective subjects

Academic Entry Requirements

Completion of Australian Year 12 within the last 2 years or and overseas equivalent qualification. 

For Example:

PHILIPPINES: Successful completion of a recognised foundation studies program, one year of university studies or completion of a qualification equivalent to an Australian AQF Certificate IV.

INDIA: Successful completion of All India Senior School Certificate or Indian School Certificate or Senior Secondary Certificate or State Board Examinations.

BANGLADESH: Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) with a minimum average of 60 % or GPA 3.5.


Language Requirement
IELTS Score (Minimum) A valid IELTS overall score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with no band under 5.5 is required.
