This qualification reflects the role of workers who provide an advanced level of assistance to a dentist, dental hygienist, dental prosthetist, dental therapist or oral health therapist, which contributes to the quality of oral health care, including contributing to the quality of dental care provided through well-developed communication skills; providing an oral health education program that promotes good oral health as part of general health.

To achieve this qualification the following 8 units must be satisfactorily completed.

Relevant electives (6 units)

  • HLTDEN024 Implement an oral hygiene program for older people
  • BSBMED301 Interpret and apply medical terminology appropriately

  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
  • HLTDEN025 Implement an oral health promotion program
  • HLTWHS005 Conduct Manual Tasks Safely

Entry Requirement

Admission Requirements
Academic Entry Requirements HLT35021 Certificate III in Dental Assisting qualification or it's equivalent qualification. 

Language Requirement
IELTS Score (Minimum) International students are required to have an IELTS of 5.5 or equivalent.

Internship or Work Placements
