Course Overview

This course will help you understand all basic to advanced care giving procedures. It will provide practical and theoretical knowledge on how to provide support and care services for people. You will also learn how to deal with all complex situations successfully.

Course Structure

To be awarded the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support, competency must be achieved with total of Thirteen (13) units, consisting of:

Core Units

  1. CHCCCS015 Provide individualised support
  2. CHCCCS023 Support independence and well being
  3. CHCCOM005 Communicate and work in health or community services
  4. CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people
  5. CHCLEG001 Work legally and ethically
  6. HLTAAP001 Recognise healthy body systems
  7. HLTWHS002 Follow safe work practices for direct client care 

Elective Units

  1. CHCAGE001 Facilitate the empowerment of older people
  2. CHCAGE005 Provide support to people living with dementia
  3. CHCCCS011 Meet personal support needs
  4. CHCCCS025 Support relationships with carers and families
  5. CHCCCS002 Assist with movement
  6. HLTAID011 Provide first aid

Admission Requirements
Minimum Age to Apply Minimum 18 years of age
Academic Entry Requirements Successful completion of year 11 or equivalent
Language Requirement
IELTS Score (Minimum) English level of at least IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
