Academic Entry Requirements | To enter this course, the applicant should successfully meet any one of the following academic requirements: • Satisfactorily completed year 11 or 12 or equivalent level of studies with atleast 65% average grade results or Without formal qualifications but who can provide evidence of work experience of at least one year in the community services sector with relevant skills and knowledge. IELTS Score (Minimum) | International students, applying either off-shore or on-shore will require: • Either a minimum IELTS (academic or general version) test score of 5.5 or equivalent for direct entry into this VET course. Results older than two years are not acceptable. OR • Evidence that they have studied in English for at least five years in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom or the United States OR • Evidence that, within two years of the application date, they have successfully completed in Australia a foundation course or a senior secondary certificate of education or a substantial part of a Certificate IV or higher-level qualification, from the Australian Qualifications Framework. OR • For students from levels 1 and 2 countries, successful completion of JTI’s Language and Numeracy Test. Work placement is not optional; this course includes a compulsory number of hours of practical placement. This qualification will suit students who would like to work in both aged care environment and/or in the disability sector. Work placement for this course must be in a disability setting and in an aged care setting.
When a student completes all the theory units in this stream and does 120 hours work placementin an aged care sector, and a minimum of 80 hours and maximum of 120 hours in the disability sector (depending on the requirement of facility) , then they are issued with the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (ageing &disability ).
We understand the industry and will assist you in finding Work Placement. JTI Work placement Coordinator, JTI Trainers and the student will work collaboratively in securing a work placement. Once you are marked satisfactory in the required units, you apply for work placement by completing an online or manual work placement form at any of our campuses. We endeavour to place you in an aged care facility and/or disability facility of your choice, however we cannot guarantee this as availability in the facility is a factor.
Once you submit your form, all parties will work towards securing a place for you.
Remember, aged care facilities and/or disability facilities prefer students who are both flexible and reliable. On average, it takes approximately 3 weeks to secure work placement in an aged care facility and/or disability facility.
To attain your certificate, you must complete both theory assessments and Work Placement.

• Satisfactorily completed 4 units (Trainer's Discretion also applicable)
• HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
• HLTWHS002 Follow safe work practices for direct client care (Manual handling Simulation part)
• Current National Police Check and Zero balance on course fees
