Course Overview

This qualification provides a general vocational outcome in amenity horticulture. Certificate III in Horticulture includes classroom and practical training and assessment to develop skills and knowledge in crop/plant selection, cultivation, management of soil, irrigation, fertilizers, weeds, control of pests and diseases, handling of chemicals, and work health and safety procedures (WHS).

Course Structure

To attain this qualification students must completed the 16 total units of competency including 5 core units and 11 elective units.

Minimum Age to Apply We do not enrol students under 18 years of age in any of our courses. Students must be 18 years and above at the time of course commencement
Minimum Age to Apply Year 12 equivalent to Australian standards or above and/or Certificate level qualification from Australia

Overseas applicants are required to demonstrate English language proficiency by one of the following options:

Overall English language tests results: IELTS 5.5, with no band less than 5.0, or equivalent on PTE, CAE or TOEFL iBT.
Certificate of completion from an Australian Senior Secondary School
Certificate of completion from an Australian Qualification at a Certificate III level or above, within the last two years prior to the application
Have completed at least 5 years of study in English medium in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland
Upper-Intermediate level certificate from an Australian ELICOS provider

All students are also required to undertake an Ironwood Institute Internal English test prior to course commencement.
