Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of a variety of workers who can use a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge to provide assistance to health professional staff for the care of clients. Health services assistance involves the worker in direct client contact under supervision.

The HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance requires completion of the following 15 Units (including 7 core and 8 electives).

Entry Requirement

Admission Requirements
Academic Entry Requirements Satisfactory Completion of Equivalent to Australian Year 12 qualification. Relevant work experience will be taken into consideration.
Minimum Age to Apply All students must be aged 18 years of age or over at the time of applying for admission in the Institute.

Language Requirement
English Language Requirements

It is expected that students demonstrate language, literacy and numeracy skills at the appropriate level to be able to succeed in the course. Additional support will be available for those with low LL&N skills identified through the pre-entry test.

The student would need the following skills:

  • Oral communication for verbal reports/group work.
  • Written communication for written assignments
  • Numeracy to complete numeracy tasks in class.
  • Literacy skills to gain knowledge through reading and the use of media and technology.
