Course Overview

The Bachelor of Professional Accounting (BPA) course  offered by the Australian School of Accounting (ASA) is designed to provide a rigorous and highly industry-focused accounting education that integrates theoretical and technical knowledge with a deep understanding of the business context. The course has a strong professional and contemporary orientation that will prepare Graduates for a relevant and sustainable career in the profession.

Course Structure

The course comprises twenty-four (24) units of which twenty-one (21) are compulsory. The course is designed to progressively build up the knowledge and skills base required of the professional accountant of the future.

      Admission Requirements
      Minimum Age to Apply
      18 years old 
      Academic Entry Requirements
      1. successful completion of an Australian senior secondary qualification with a satisfactory Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) score of 65 (or equivalent as determined by the Academic Board) for accounting and the score of 55 for Bachelor of Business (Technology Management) and nested courses; or

      2. successful completion of an equivalent secondary qualification either interstate or overseas and attainment of the required entrance standard; or

      3. satisfactory completion of an accredited Tertiary Preparation Program (TPP) or a Foundation Year Program offered by a recognised higher education provider in Australia; or

      4. satisfactory completion of a AQF Level 6 for entry into the Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent international qualification; or admission to candidature for an undergraduate degree at an Australian University.

      IELTS Score (Minimum) Overall score of 6.0 with no band under 5.5.
      TOEFL-IBT Score (Minimum) 60 Overall (with a writing score of 20)
      PTE Score (Minimum) Overall score 52 with no skill score < 42
      CAE Score (Minimum) 52 or better
