Course Overview

As a Bachelor of Music Composition and Music Production student, you’ll learn the craft of song writing, composition and audio recording. You’ll develop your unique sound?in the musical genres of your choosing. At the conclusion of the course, you’ll have a wide range of knowledge?of and theory, allowing you to work across diverse areas and communicate effectively as a composer and producer.


Course Structure

Through a combination of one-on-one tutoring and group master classes, you’ll study composition, arranging, orchestration, recording, digital audio and post-production. You will learn theoretical and technical skills to support you as you progress.

Academic Entry Requirements

Applicants into undergraduate courses must meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 qualification (or overseas equivalent as assessed by the Department of Education, including the International Baccalaureate (IB)), in the last 2 years.
  • Completed at least one term of full-time Higher Education (HE) study (or the part-time equivalent) at AQF level 5 degree or higher (or its overseas equivalent); OR successfully completed an AQF VET qualification Certificate IV or above (or its overseas equivalent).
  • Applicants who have not completed one term of HE studies or a Certificate IV or above will be assessed on their secondary school results. Please note that other selection criteria, including English proficiency, will be considered.
