Sustainability skills are an asset that will improve the competitive advantage of any business. By studying Sustainable Operations, you will learn how to identify sustainability issues within different industries and apply your skillset to improve sustainable business operations.
This qualification specifies the skills and knowledge required to measure current sustainability performance across an organisation and to establish processes for improved sustainability performance.

It applies to job roles with a focus on sustainability and a managerial or technician level of responsibility, authority and autonomy who will liaise with senior management and other stakeholders to drive and influence change across an organisation.

Core Units:

  4. MSS015047 Develop strategic sustainability plans
  5. MSS015048 Implement sustainability plans

Elective Units:

  1. MSS014018 Apply circularity design thinking to all work streams
  2. MSS015040 Conduct a sustainability energy audit
  3. MSS015044 Design sustainable product or process
  4. MSS015045 Develop required sustainability reports
  5. MSS015049 Conduct a sustainable water use audit
  6. MSS015050 Conduct an emissions audit
  7. MSS015052 Develop regulated sustainability reports
  8. MSS017020 Lead sustainability strategy deployment
  9. MSS017021 Set strategic direction for circularity
  10. MSS017022 Establish systemic supports for circularity
  11. MSS017023 Establish collaborative business arrangements

Admission Requirements
Minimum Age to Apply - 18 years of age or over

Academic Entry Requirements

Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent with some work experience in any field.

A bachelor’s degree in any field.

Any AQF qualification at the Certificate III level or above in any discipline area delivered and assessed in English only will be deemed as meeting both the academic and English language entry requirements. However, preferred pathway would be completion of Certificate IV.

Language Requirement
IELTS Score (Minimum) Academic IELTS 5.5 overall, no less than 5.0 in each band, or upper intermediate, or EAP from approved ELICOS/ESL centre or equivalent.
