Course Overview

People study this course for many reasons – passion for our environment, wanting to acquire hands-on skills so they can assist with restoring and conserving our marine habitats, obtaining a qualification which will make a real difference.
Studying MHCR entails learning theory which you then put into practice in the field. In the field means going to marine habitats to apply hands-on skills related to restoring and conserving, eg: Seagrass, Sand Dunes, Rocky Shores, Mangroves. The skills are applied on the land and in the water, so you can expect to get wet!

The learner cohort for this program is domestic and international students who are looking to become professional in Certificate II in Marine Habitat Conservation and Restoration.

Certificate II in Marine Habitat Conservation and Restoration is delivered face to face both on campus and at external locations. The course is delivered through practical training to ensure students have the capability to complete tasks while in the workplace under supervision.

  9. MHCCRB003 Conduct an onsite information session on coral reef biology
  10. MHCMRP013 Participate in a mangrove restoration project
  11. MHCPEA002 Participate in environmental assessment
  12. AHCNAR306 Conduct photography for fieldwork

Entry Requirement

Admission Requirements
Academic Entry Requirements It is a condition of your enrolment that you have a suitable laptop computer to begin your course: a suitable laptop with Microsoft 2010.
Language Requirement
English Language Requirements Proof of minimum English level testing score suited to the correct level of study.
Envirotech English placement test is available for applicants from countries of low migration risk. Students with a lower level of English proficiency will be offered to enrol into our Partner ELICOS course to improve their English level and develop professional English communications skills
